		<description>I think you are right. At least on OS X you can set the time after which the hard drive gets spinned down and the cpu clock down-scaling is probably active per default.

Although I think it makes sense that you don&#039;t have the hard disk down-spinning option activated per default on Ubuntu server, as it is a bad idea to activate that for a production server.</description>

		<description>Doesn&#039;t all that tuning come by default on other operating systems (OSX and windows) ?  Well, they don&#039;t pull out your CD burners but they certainly stop hard drives from spinning and the like.</description>
